Fantasy Football for the Record 2

I love Fantasy Football.  I started playing back in the days before all of this fancy Internet stuff.  Back then, I had to wait for the ESPN recap show and the newspaper (yes, paper) on Monday.  The fantasy aspect gives me a reason to pay attention to football.  Honestly, I’ve drifted away from the NFL during the past decade, but that’s another story for another day.

My fantasy options have dwindled over the past couple of years because I’m not in an office with friends who play.  The fantasy draft live with your buddies is always a great time.  Sans the experience, I now play my fantasy football on Yahoo.  I thought, as the season started, I would post highlights of my 3 teams, and the links to my leagues.  You will notice I am in a WINNERS league, only accessible to returning champions from the previous year.  (You too can achieve this level by following this blog…)  I’ll keep you updated on the progress of my Runnin Horns-themed teams as the season goes along.  I am looking forward to spending another year of non-refundable life hours pouring over stats, blogs, and injury reports.

My Teams:

The defending champion.  (This one I was able to live draft, unlike the other two.)

Runnin Horns

I like this team quite a bit.  Michael Turner should be great.  I love Aaron Rodgers this year.  My WR’s are strong in a year where there aren’t that many of them.  My bench feels strong to make up for a couple of tough bye weeks for me.

FW Runnin Horns

We’ll see about the Fort Worth version of the Runnin Horns.  I don’t like Romo at all.  MY RB’s are strong, but I didn’t do great at receiver.  We’ll have to see how this shakes out and watch the waiver wire.

The Runnin Horns

I like this team simply because of Tom Brady.  The Pats are going to light it up this year.  I just wish I had Randy Moss to go along with the crew.

Go Runnin Horns, and good luck to the rest of you this season.

Rosters are looking pretty strong – seems like you may be a Calvin Johnson believer? He is a threat for sure – I also like the Vincent Jackson pick, a good Colorado boy doing good in the NFL and that divsion is going to be “SOFT” this year so he should have a big year! Good luck!

I think you have to get one of the big receivers early, Calvin Johnson just kept coming up in the late round slot. Hopefully Stafford can stay upright!! Can’t believe I have to root for the Lions in any fashion.
